Along with a history of the style, Taylor deals with the techniques, characteristics of Wado Ryu that make it a unique blend of Okinawan Karate and Japanese Ju Jitsu. He also discusses each of the nine Wado Ryu katas in depth as well as others such as Niseishi, Passi, Wanshu, Jion, Jitte, Rohai . The history of each kata is discussed as well as the concepts contained within.
